Safe Villages

As the graphic design consultatnt for Ghana Health & Education Initiative (GHEI), I created branding for Safe Villages, a program that was created to inform and equip rural Ghanaian villages in the face of COVID-19. I developed a logo, visual identity, brand guidelines, and various graphic assets.

I created in-language, printable layouts for quick and easy use across the villages.

My initial sketches and concepting focused on 4 key values set by GHEI's communications manager:

  1. diverse community
  2. trusted information
  3. health
  4. and safety

The final logo mark includes 3 different people, representing diverse villages of different ages and backgrounds. They lay atop a silhouette of homes to symbolize the local village community.

The color palette borrows secondary colors from GHEI's existing brand, ensuring that the Safe Villages brand remains cohesive with other content.

Alex's work helped unite our efforts under one consistent visual story and allowed us to communicate clearly with Ghanaian villagers and donors abroad.
